Poteau has gone 8-2 against Sallisaw recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. On Thursday, Poteau didn't have too much trouble with McLain Science & Tech as they won 43-28. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Sam Tecla produced another solid performance throwing for 308 yards and three TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 49 yards. A healthy portion of Tecla's aerial production (100 yards to be exact) went to Logan Waymire.
Another reason for the win was Poteau's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Camden Crew was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
Meanwhile, Sallisaw made easy work of Glenpool on Thursday and carried off a 35-13 win. The Black Diamonds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 22 points or more this season.
A big part of Sallisaw's victory came down to the chemistry between Kase Adams and his top target Jackson Harris. Adams rushed for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries while Harris rushed for 103 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. Those 138 rushing yards gave Adams a new career-high.
Sallisaw was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 271 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 173 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Poteau's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Sallisaw, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-1.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Tecla and Adams. Tecla just won't slow down this season and has thrown 14 touchdowns while averaging 163.3 passing yards per game. Adams has been a dominant force too and has averaged 126.4 passing yards per game.
Poteau couldn't quite get it done against Sallisaw in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 14-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Adams, who threw for 64 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 48 yards. Now that the Pirates know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
