Cathedral Catholic, the reigning MaxPreps National Champions, got revenge on No. 6
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) in the final of the Dave Mohs Tournament in Southern California. The Dons fell to the Monarchs a few weeks back at Volleypalooza in Texas. In addition to the Mater Dei victory, they also beat a talented
Huntington Beach (Huntington Beach, Calif.) squad.
Assumption, which owns 22 Kentucky state titles, jumped 10 spots after beating
Mother McAuley (Chicago) and
Notre Dame Academy (Park Hills, Ky.) at the LIVT Adidas Tournament in Louisville. The Rockets handed the Mighty Macs their second loss while dropping the Pandas for the first time this season.
Charlotte Moriarty has been a force with 147 kills, leading a quartet all averaging more than 2.4 kills per set.
