On Tuesday, Thayer Central didn't have too much trouble with Shelby-Rising City on the road as they won 55-37.
Sam Souerdyke continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Thayer Central's points. Another player making a difference was Colton Kuhlmann, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Thayer Central now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Shelby-Rising City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thayer Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Southern on February 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Southern is ranked 149th, while Thayer Central is ranked 135th). As for Shelby-Rising City, they will head out on the road to face off against Osceola at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
