The Clearfield Falcons will square off against the Box Elder Bees at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Clearfield comes in on ten and Box Elder on three.
On Friday, Clearfield made easy work of Northridge and carried off an 11-5 victory.
Brady Reynolds was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off only one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning two runs and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Clearfield let Brodie Deal and Ryan Frei run wild. Deal went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Frei went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Deal a new career-high. Chase Marriott was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Box Elder). Everything went their way against Bonneville on Friday as they made off with a 17-2 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Korver Smith and Maddox Earnest made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Smith pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Earnest pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Box Elder is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-10 otherwise. At the plate, Smith went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Earnest went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Bryson Wight was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Box Elder's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kadyn Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Box Elder kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.
Clearfield now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Box Elder, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Box Elder's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Clearfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. It's a different story for Box Elder, though, as they've only averaged .352. Will they be able to contain Clearfield's hitters?
Clearfield beat Box Elder 7-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bees turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
