For the first time this season, Old Forge will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Mid Valley Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mid Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Old Forge, who comes in off a win.
Old Forge is headed out to face Mid Valley after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Blue Devils came out on top against Mountain View by a score of 9-6 on Sunday.
Angelo DiMauro was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Wozniak, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Abington Heights hit Mid Valley with a six-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans fell just short of the Comets by a score of 8-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost four in a row.
Brett Yanoski and Nick Mills were huge no matter where they played even without the win. On the mound, Yanoski pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Mills pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Yanoski got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, while Mills got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, Joey Romanosky made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base. Jake Bondy was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Old Forge couldn't quite finish off Mid Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 5-3. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
