Softball Recap: North Sevier Wins Going Away Against Water Canyon

With a playoff win on the line, North Sevier rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Water Canyon Wildcats 21-4. Considering the Wolves have won ten contests by more than ten runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Dally Wasden made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addie Quarnberg, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Kadee Bosshard was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

North Sevier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .793. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Water Canyon only posted an OBP of .357.

North Sevier's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Water Canyon, they dropped their record down to 0-20 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, North Sevier will take on Enterprise at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Enterprise has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.26 runs per game on average), something North Sevier will no doubt try to take advantage of. Water Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
