1A District 8 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Wildwood moved up to 421 from 447 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A District 8. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of a 18-14 win over Crescent City.
Taylor took down Temple Christian Academy 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dexter Rodriguez ran for 106 yards in the win.
The Wildcats' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matt Henry threw for 60 and one touchdown and Juan Barrera had 54 yards receiving. James (J.T.) Hearn helped Taylor's passing attack out by catching one ball for six yards.
Taylor's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Henry has thrown for 148 yards and one touchdown this season, while Barrera has four catches for 83 yards. Rodriguez leads the league in rushing with 258 yards.
The Raiders made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,944 from 10,644. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 18-14 victory over Crescent City last week.
