After flying high against the Southern Valley Eagles on Thursday, the Minden Whippets came back down to earth. Minden had to suffer through a rough 71-41 loss at the hands of Ogallala. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Minden in their matchups with Ogallala: they've now lost eight in a row.
Minden's lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kade Dorszynski, who scored 12 points. Dorszynski scored a full 29.3% of Minden's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Lutkemeier, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
Minden's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ogallala, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Minden will be playing in front of their home fans against Broken Bow on Friday. As for Ogallala, they will head out on the road to face off against Holdrege at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
