Lamb (6-4 CG/Mouth of Wilson, Va./Oak Hill Academy), a native of Queens, N.Y., will choose from Arizona, Connecticut, Kansas, Kentucky and West Virginia. Selby (6-3 CG/Baltimore, Md./Lake Clifton) will choose from Arizona, Connecticut, Kansas and Kentucky, as it currently stands.
Brandon Knight (6-4 CG/Coral Springs, Fla./Pine Crest) expects to decide some time in April between the McDonald’s and Jordan Games. He will choose from Connecticut, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky and Syracuse. Miami is no longer in the hunt while the Orange may host him on an unofficial visit after March Madness.
As for the other four uncommitted All-Americans, their lists remain unchanged but decisions are looming.
Terrence Jones (6-8 CF/Portland, Ore./Jefferson) has been expected to decide once the school season ends and Jefferson won its state championship last weekend. Kentucky, Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA and Washington made the cut. UCLA head coach Ben Howland was on hand for the state title game.
Cory Joseph (6-3 CG/Henderson, Nev./Findlay Prep) recently drew a second visit in as many weeks from Kentucky head coach John Calipari but the native Canadian still looks to choose from Connecticut, Minnesota, Texas, UNLV and Villanova. This past week, Joseph was also named to the World Select team that will take on the USA team at the annual Hoop Summit on April 10 in Portland, Ore.
C.J. Leslie (6-8 CF/Raleigh, N.C./Word of God) is likely to decide come the spring signing period (April 14) with Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, NC State, Oregon and UCLA in the mix.
Ray McCallum (6-1 PG/Beverly Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day) is in the middle of a state title chase and also planning to ink his letter in the upcoming period with Arizona, Detroit, Florida and UCLA having been the set final four.
Also as the spring signing period draws near, expect to begin to see some recruits who signed in the fall now try and opt out of their letters of intent. This comes as a result of the coaching changes coming as the college hoops seasons end. So far since regular seasons ended, firings have come at Auburn, Central Florida, Charlotte, DePaul, East Carolina, Hawaii, Iowa, Oregon, Seton Hall and St. John’s.
Additionally, one player who made a verbal commitment but did not sign with the school in the fall was Luke Cothron with North Carolina State. Cothron (6-8 PF/Red Springs, N.C./Flora MacDonald Academy), a native of Huntsville, Ala., was considered a soft commit for the spring period but Alabama, Connecticut, Kentucky and Texas A&M are also considered potential landing spots.
