The Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS will head out on the road to face off against the West Lyon Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS nor West Lyon posted many points in their last games could muster much offensive firepower in their last games.
Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS fell victim to Spirit Lake's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were the victim of a rough 21-0 loss at the hands of the Indians. While losing is never fun, Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Spirit Lake is ranked 29th).
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, West Lyon's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 7-0 to Central Lyon/George-Little Rock.
Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, West Lyon fell to 7-1.
