The Milton Panthers waltzed into Tuesday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 65-57 victory over Fort Walton Beach. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Milton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ra'shaun Elzy, who scored 14 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Treymar Jones, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Despite the loss, Fort Walton Beach saw an underclassman step up: KJ Robertson scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Kyle Jones, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
Milton's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Fort Walton Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Pensacola Catholic the next time they take the court. Fort Walton Beach will host Pensacola Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Milton will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
