The Palisade Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Rifle Bears, and things went their way on Friday too. Palisade really took it to Rifle for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-8 victory on the road. With Palisade ahead 34-2 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Leading Palisade to victory were Chloe Simons and Delaney Wright. Simons dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Wright scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Simons has scored at least 25% of Palisade's points. Mady Bavor was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Palisade and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Rifle, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Palisade is on the road again on Saturday and play against Grand Valley at 11:30 a.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Grand Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. As for Rifle, they will square off against Prospect Ridge Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
