The Toombs County Bulldogs will square off against the Savannah Christian Raiders at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Savannah Christian will be up against a hot Toombs County squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Bulldogs blew past Vidalia 56-16 on Friday. With the Bulldogs ahead 42-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Justin Powell was his usual excellent self, rushing for 65 yards and three TDs on only nine carries. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Gavin Fletcher, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Toombs County, adding 20 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Alex Scott, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from Fletcher.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Savannah Christian). Everything went their way against Swainsboro on Friday as they made off with a 45-19 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Raiders had established a 22-point advantage.
Toombs County better keep an eye on Blaise Thomas. He was instrumental in Savannah Christian's win, rushing for 128 yards and one score on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 262 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. That's the most rushing yards Thomas has posted since back in August.
Savannah Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Toombs County's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Savannah Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Toombs County has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 181.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Savannah Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 228 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
