Volleyball Recap: Redlands Adventist Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ethan Gaines and David Chang

Redlands Adventist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Woodcrest Christian Royals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on Monday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Redlands Adventist Academy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 25-17, 26-28, 15-9.

Redlands Adventist Academy's loss came despite strong showings from David Chang and Ethan Gaines. Chang had 11 digs and two assists, while Gaines had 31 kills, ten digs, and two aces. Gaines has been hot, having posted nine or more kills the last five times he's played. Josh Robinson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Redlands Adventist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Woodcrest Christian, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Redlands Adventist Academy has already played their next match (against Arrowhead Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Woodcrest Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Aquinas on the 17th.
