The Forney Jackrabbits will head out on the road to face off against the Tyler Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tyler took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Forney, who comes in off a win.
Forney put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to McKinney North for the full four quarters, racking up a 40-7 win at home. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Forney had established a 24 point advantage.
Forney's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Javian Osborne, who rushed for 183 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. Kyle Crawford also helped out by tossing the rock for 295 yards.
Meanwhile, Tyler might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Longview who claimed the real prize. Tyler ended up on the wrong side of a rough 34-12 walloping at the hands of Longview. While losing is never fun, Tyler can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Longview is ranked 14th).
Derrick Mcfall put forth a good effort for the losing side as he gained 100 total yards and a touchdown.
The victory (which was Forney's third in a row) raised their record to 8-1. As for Tyler, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Forney against Tyler in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 57-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forney since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
