The Box Elder Bees entered their tilt with the Clearfield Falcons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Box Elder took down Clearfield 61-44 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Box Elder also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
Box Elder's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jocelyn Vranes, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vranes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kaydence Barber, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals.
Despite the loss, Clearfield saw an underclassman step up: Isabelle Wyaskett scored 14 points along with seven steals. Wyaskett is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Xiyah Yarbrough, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Box Elder's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Clearfield, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Box Elder will challenge Roy at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Roy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Clearfield, they will head out on the road to square off against Viewmont at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Viewmont knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Clearfield likes a good challenge.
