The Huffman Vikings won the last time they faced the Oxford Yellow Jackets, and things went their way  on Saturday too. Huffman took down Oxford 60-45. Given Huffman's advantage  in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings  (they are ranked 16th, while Oxford is ranked 98th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 When it comes to explaining why Oxford lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Xaionna Whitfield. Despite the final result, she  scored 17 points along with seven  rebounds.  Shay Montgomery was another key contributor,  scoring seven points along with five  rebounds.
 Huffman is  on a roll lately: they've  won 11 of their last 12 matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Oxford, they bumped their record down to 8-11 with that  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Huffman's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Center Point at 6:00  p.m.  on January 12th. As for Oxford, they will square off against Cullman at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Cullman is coming into the  matchup on a five-game losing streak.
