Basketball Game Preview: Potomac School Panthers vs. Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers

Potomac School has gone 7-2 against Georgetown Day recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Potomac School Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers at 4:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Potomac School has three straight wins, Georgetown Day has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Monday, Potomac School was able to grind out a solid victory over Brecksville-Broadview Heights, taking the game 55-46.

Potomac School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zora Burrell, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Burrell is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sabrina Anderson, who posted 13 points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Georgetown Day faced Maret in a battle between two of the state's top teams back in December of 2024. Georgetown Day took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maret. One positive for the Mighty Hoppers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Georgetown Day's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Potomac School, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Potomac School strolled past Georgetown Day in their previous matchup back in February of 2022 by a score of 60-42. Will Potomac School repeat their success, or does Georgetown Day have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
