The Cooper Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Alba-Golden Panthers with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Cooper took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 40-0 victory over Alba-Golden. Considering Cooper has won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cooper to victory, but perhaps none more so than Canon Ingram, who rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 47 yards and a touchdown on only four passes. Adryean Mapps was another key contributor, gaining 140 total yards and two touchdowns.
Cooper's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Even more impressive is the teams they beat to make that streak: Alba-Golden, Wolfe City, and Collinsville. As for Alba-Golden, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Cooper will be playing at home against Boles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Boles comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Alba-Golden will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Beckville at 7:30 p.m. on November 9th.
