The Greensburg Pirates won the last time they faced the Tindley Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Greensburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Tindley and snuck past 51-48.
Leading Greensburg to victory were Drew Busick and Jack Mckinsey. Busick scored 16 points along with five rebounds, while Mckinsey dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mckinsey has scored at least 25% of Greensburg's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Barnes-pettit, who scored seven points.
Tindley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Damon Van Horn, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Van Horn's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Henri Maye, who scored 13 points.
Greensburg is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Tindley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.
Greensburg is on the road again on Friday and play against Connersville at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Connersville is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Tindley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Heritage Christian at 7:30 a.m. Heritage Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
