The Boothbay Seahawks managed to keep up with the Monmouth Academy Mustangs until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Boothbay had to suffer through a rough 70-37 loss at the hands of Monmouth Academy. Boothbay has struggled against Monmouth Academy recently, as their game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Finn Harkins and Luke Morley certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Harkins scored ten points along with five rebounds, while Morley scored 13 points. The match was Morley's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Boothbay's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Monmouth Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Boothbay's road trip will continue as they head out to face Waynflete at 6:30 p.m. on January 2nd. As for Monmouth Academy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Telstar at 6:30 p.m. on January 4th. Telstar will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Monmouth Academy is ranked 18th).
