They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (5-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Tors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
Brianna Fontenot was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Samantha Hayes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.
Kinder's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Sulphur, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kinder will challenge South Beauregard at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sulphur, they will take on Bell City at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
