1A Nisqually - Division 2 recap Oct. 23, 2012
Charles Wright extended the longest winning streak in 1A Nisqually - Division 2 this week by beating Bellevue Christian, 49-8. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Tarriers.
Charles Wright led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on the Vikings. Fritz Jacobson threw for 56 yards and two touchdowns and ran for three yards in the win.
Melvin Thornton was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 225 yards on 15 carries as Chimacum beat Bellevue Christian. Teammate Derek Ajax added to the ground attack by rushing for 103 yards.
Moore was the best wideout in 1A Nisqually - Division 2 this week as Charles Wright beat the Vikings. Moore racked up one reception for 36 yards. Collin Hungate helped Charles Wright's passing attack out by catching one ball for 20 yards.
The Tarriers' Jacobson and Beau Iverson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Jacobson has thrown for 651 yards this season, while Iverson, a 6-foot-8 receiver, has 10 catches for 214 yards. Thornton from the Cowboys leads the league in rushing with 1087 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Charles Wright takes on second place Cedar Park Christian. Last week, Charles Wright topped Bellevue Christian, while Cedar Park Christian defeated Life Christian Academy.
