Ascension Episcopal suffered a tough 53-32 defeat at the hands of Woodlawn-B.R. on Monday. While losing is never fun, Ascension Episcopal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Woodlawn-B.R. is ranked 100th).
Christian Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Woodlawn-B.R., dropping a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. Those 30 points set a new season-high mark for him. Kelinee Stone was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Ascension Episcopal and nudges their season record down to 6-8. As for Woodlawn-B.R., their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ascension Episcopal will take on North Vermilion at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodlawn-B.R. will be home for the holidays to greet Belaire at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
