Valiant Cross Academy posted their closest win yet this season on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Evangel Christian 74-72. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Valiant Cross Academy found their leader in underclassman Deshawn Hall, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. Hall is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. John Cosby was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Lee-Scott Academy came up short against Springwood on Thursday and fell 61-50.
Valiant Cross Academy's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Lee-Scott Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-3.
Valiant Cross Academy was taken down by Lee-Scott Academy 75-45 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Valiant Cross Academy, Joseph Horne (who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
