Tri-West Hendricks hasn't had much luck against Danville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tri-West Hendricks Bruins will welcome the Danville Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Tri-West Hendricks is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since February 23, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pendleton Heights, sneaking past 59-56. The score was all tied up 28-28 at the break, but the Bruins were the better team in the second half.
Tri-West Hendricks' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wes Ward, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Ward a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ryan Miller, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 18 points along with five assists and three steals.
Tri-West Hendricks was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pendleton Heights only racked up eight assists.
Meanwhile, Danville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 67-62 to Greencastle. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (57), the Warriors still had to take the loss.
Tri-West Hendricks will need focus on slowing down Steven Webb, one of several Danville players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Elijah Tricker was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds.
Danville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Tri-West Hendricks, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Tri-West Hendricks hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 62.1 points per game. However, it's not like Danville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 61.6 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Tri-West Hendricks came up short against Danville in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 57-49. Thankfully for Tri-West Hendricks, Evan Lawrence (who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
