Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boulder). They put the hurt on Westtown with a sharp 12-2 win on Wednesday. The Panthers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024.
Sam Skubic made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Bennett Levinson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Finn Torvik, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That hit was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Nguyen, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Boulder's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for John Carroll Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
