East Carter's loss came despite strong showings from Savannah Adams and Kinsley Rutledge. Adams scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Rutledge dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Rutledge also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Scarlett Williams was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
East Carter has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Elliott County, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
