Urbana was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Governor Thomas Johnson 20-13. The Hawks came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Walkersville extended the longest winning streak in Monocacy Valley - Piedmont this week by beating Tuscarora, 49-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Frederick's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cadets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matt Hynes has thrown for 851 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Alex Levine has 20 catches for 335 yards. Jerel English leads the league in rushing with 513 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Middletown and Urbana. The Knights enters the contest ranked 10th in the state, while Ryan Hines 's team ranks 21st.
Frederick and Linganore played the most hotly contested game in Monocacy Valley - Piedmont this week, with Frederick eventually emerging with a 41-35 victory.
