The Neuse Charter Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 74-63 to Henderson Collegiate. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Tuesday (57), Neuse Charter still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Neuse Charter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayvin Bradley. Despite the final result, he scored 35 points. Bradley scored a full 55.6% of Neuse Charter's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tyron Crippen was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Adrian Mayes was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 21 rebounds for Henderson Collegiate. That makes it five consecutive games in which Mayes has scored at least 25% of Henderson Collegiate's points. Another player making a difference was Dillion Baskerville, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Neuse Charter bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Henderson Collegiate, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Neuse Charter has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th. Henderson Collegiate will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rolesville at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th.
