After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pleasant, the Mt. Gilead Indians were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They blew past East Knox 47-26. Given Mt. Gilead's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while East Knox is ranked 525th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mt. Gilead to victory, but perhaps none more so than Faith White, who scored 11 points. The game was White's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Long, who scored 11 points.
Mt. Gilead's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for East Knox, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Gilead will take on Cardington-Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Cardington-Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Saturday. As for East Knox, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Danville at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Danville is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
