The Highland Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Century Diamondbacks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought game, but Highland had to settle for a 55-52 defeat against Preston.
Highland's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Daisy Agado, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals, and Rian Pokibro who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds. Pokibro scored a full 32.7% of Highland's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Century had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 37-30 victory over Burley on Saturday.
Chinelo Njoku and Reagan Trulson were among the main playmakers for Century as the former scored 4 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals and the latter scored 6 points along with 6 steals. Trulson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
The losses dropped Highland to 0-4 and Preston to 1-2.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's matchup: Highland have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4 threes per game. It's a different story for Century, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 per game. Given Highland's sizeable advantage in that area, Century will need to find a way to close that gap.
Highland came up short against Century in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 56-45. Thankfully for Highland, Adee Butler (who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
