Meridian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Brentsville District, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 7-1 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Mustangs have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Meridian's third in a row) raised their record to 9-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Brentsville District, they dropped their record down to 12-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will square off against Wakefield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brentsville District, they will take on Fauquier at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
