The Northern Highlands Highlanders will head out on the road to take on the Fair Lawn Cutters at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Northern Highlands focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
After a string of four wins, Northern Highlands' good fortune finally ran out. They lost to Don Bosco Prep on the road by a decisive 63-49 margin. While losing is never fun, Northern Highlands can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Don Bosco Prep is ranked first).
The losing side was boosted by Lucas Dipasupil, who scored 26 points. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Chapler, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Fair Lawn suffered a rough 53-33 loss at the hands of Wayne Valley on Monday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fair Lawn has scored all season.
Northern Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Fair Lawn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season.
Northern Highlands didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Fair Lawn when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 59-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northern Highlands since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
