The Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Pomeroy Pirates had 15 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Tekoa-Rosalia was beaten by the Pirates 61-14. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tekoa-Rosalia has scored all season.
Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vanden Allen, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals. Joseph Menga was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Tekoa-Rosalia struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Pomeroy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Oliver Severs out in front who scored 18 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Trace Roberts, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Tekoa-Rosalia and nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for Pomeroy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tekoa-Rosalia will face off against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pomeroy, they will head out on the road to square off against the at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
