Tri-City Christian has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Escondido Charter has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Tri-City Christian 2.7, Escondido Charter 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Tri-City Christian gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Bishop's by a score of 7-4. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Olivia Hernandez was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Valdivia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Escondido Charter never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past Mission Vista 7-0. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
Mission Vista's batters probably weren't too happy with Lilly Harper, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (she gave up two walks). Harper has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Selena Salas, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Rose Gomez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.
Escondido Charter is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Tri-City Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tri-City Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Escondido Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Tri-City Christian came up short against Escondido Charter in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 6-2. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
