Prestonwood Christian North gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Nazarene Christian Academy Lions 58-12. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Prestonwood Christian North also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Prestonwood Christian North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton McDonald, who threw for 302 yards and five TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt. Those five passing touchdowns gave McDonald a new career-high. Prestonwood Christian North's leading receiver Tyler Teague was McDonald's top target yet again, picking up 104 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.
Prestonwood Christian North didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Noah Pettett, Jaden Matthews, and Teague picked up one apiece. Carson Thornberry was another major factor on D, making seven total tackles (3.0 for loss) and defending one pass.
Despite the loss, Nazarene Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Cristian Adams, who threw for 303 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 73 yards on only six carries. Carson Drury also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prestonwood Christian North will head out to square off against Coram Deo Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nazarene Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Union Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
