Weslaco East has gone a perfect 9-0 against Porter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will challenge the Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. Weslaco East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Weslaco East will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Donna on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past the Redskins 14-1. Considering the Wildcats have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Alanah Bautista was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Jessica Salazar was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Weslaco East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Porter waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cowboys have posted against the Vikings since March 22, 2022.
Mia Sosa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Porter saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miley Cortez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Weslaco East has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Porter, their record is now 11-6.
Both Weslaco East and Porter just can't seem to miss. The Wildcats have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Porter struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Weslaco East beat Porter 9-4 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
