The Giles County Bobcats entered their tilt with the Sequatchie County Indians with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Giles County simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Sequatchie County 41-7 at home. Considering Giles County has won six matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Giles County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zori Randolph out in front who rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Randolph was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. Kamauri A turner was another key contributor, gaining 128 total yards and two touchdowns.
Giles County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Caleb Oates and his three sacks.
Giles County's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Community and 3-7 Lincoln County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for Sequatchie County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Giles County will head out on the road to face off against Brainerd at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sequatchie County, they will be playing at home against Tyner Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Tyner Academy is ranked 159th, while Sequatchie County is ranked 140th).
