Softball Recap: Basha Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Basha had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Casteel on Tuesday. The Bears were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Colts. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Basha got a great performance from Kylee Duffy as she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Kendall Bragg was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Morgan Bragg was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Basha was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .565. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Casteel only posted a batting average of .143.

Basha has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Casteel, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12.

Basha will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colts: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
