Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for South Central

South Central waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Voyager Academy Vikings. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Brody Brannan, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Rahkeem Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: South Central lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

South Central's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Voyager Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-2.

Looking ahead, South Central will head out on the road to square off against Havelock at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Voyager Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Eno River Academy at 7:00 p.m. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.77 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
