The Hart County Raiders will challenge the Metcalfe County Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Metcalfe County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hart County, who comes in off a win.
Hart County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand John Hardin a 16-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Bryson Huff was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Hart County let Austin Martin and Brayden Minor run wild. Martin got on base in three of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Minor scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave Martin a new career-high. Wyatt Chaney was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Hart County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Metcalfe County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Glasgow. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hornets have suffered since April 20, 2024.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4-1. As for Metcalfe County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Hart County came out on top in a nail-biter against Metcalfe County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Does Hart County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Metcalfe County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
