Baseball Recap: Riverview Sets Scoring Season-High Against Jefferson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverview). They were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Jefferson Bears on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-2 on Monday.

Riverview let Evan Minnick and Miguel Colon run wild. Minnick went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Colon went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave Colon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyler Collins, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Riverview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Riverview and bumps their season record up to 6-18. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Jefferson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
