It was a good run, but the Mobile Christian Leopards unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of George County by a score of 42-39.
Despite the loss, Mobile Christian saw an underclassman step up: Hadley Kelly dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. Kelly continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Booker, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
Mobile Christian has yet to win a game at home this season, leaving them with a 7-1 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for George County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Mobile Christian will head out on the road to face off against Blacksher at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blacksher and Mobile Christian are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for George County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Central at 5:30 a.m. on Friday. East Central comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
