Softball Recap: Corona Wins Going Away Against Arroyo Valley

While Corona didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Arroyo Valley Hawks 11-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Corona has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Arroyo Valley and nudges their season record down to 2-7-2.

Looking ahead, Corona will challenge San Marino at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Corona's pitchers better be ready for this one: San Marino has averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Arroyo Valley, they will face off against Temecula Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
