Volleyball Recap: Quincy Notre Dame Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Quincy Notre Dame waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Illini West Chargers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Quincy Notre Dame had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-9, 25-17.

Quincy Notre Dame was led to victory by Sophia White and Joselyn Boyer. White had 12 digs and nine assists, while Boyer had 11 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Boyer has posted over her last nine contests. Addie Flesch also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Illini West's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Shutwell, who had 12 digs, and Kennedy Artman, who had five digs and three assists.

Quincy Notre Dame's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Illini West, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Quincy Notre Dame will challenge Camp Point Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Illini West, they will venture away from home to square off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
