Canoga Park has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The Panorama Pythons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Canoga Park was just a hair shy of victory and fell 24-23 to Reseda.
Despite the loss, Canoga Park had strong showings from Dallas Lakey, who rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown, and Anthony Medina, who rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Panorama had to suffer through a rough 55-20 loss at the hands of Kennedy. Panorama has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Canoga Park's loss was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 San Fernando and 8-1 Arleta (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.1% over those games). As for Panorama, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
Canoga Park strolled past Panorama when the teams last played back in September of 2022 by a score of 23-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canoga Park since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
