Mark Morris is 0-4 against Kelso since March of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Monarchs will look to defend their home field against the Hilanders at 4:00 p.m. Mark Morris is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Mark Morris made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Clatskanie, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Monarchs blew past the Tigers 19-4 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Monarchs, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Makenzie Henthorn and Shyanne Sellers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Henthorn struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Meanwhile, Sellers tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Henthorn has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Henthorn got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Sellers scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those six RBI gave Henthorn a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paisley Fraidenburg, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Mikaila Warfield was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Mark Morris always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .545 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kelso). They walked away with a 13-8 win over River Ridge on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Mark Morris pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Kelso, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Mark Morris couldn't quite finish off Kelso in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Will the Monarchs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
