Walnut Ridge is 9-1 against South since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Walnut Ridge Scots will look to defend their home court against the South Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Walnut Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.
Last Friday, Walnut Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Eastmoor Academy, taking the game 50-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Scots.

Walnut Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nyah Hubbard, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. The matchup was Hubbard's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nakushe Alsop, who posted eight points in addition to eight assists and eight steals.
Walnut Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, South put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Marion-Franklin for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-5 victory. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
South's win came from a few key players Walnut Ridge will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ke'Sia Williams, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 20 rebounds. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emani Tynes-Clardy, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals.
South's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.3 points per game. As for Walnut Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Walnut Ridge has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 41 boards per game. However, it's not like South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 41.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
