The Koyuk Malimiut Malemutes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 67-35 defeat at the hands of Gambell. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Koyuk Malimiut in their matchups with Gambell: they've now lost five in a row.
Gambell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Camppbell, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Camppbell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tracy Tungiyan, who scored 12 points.
Koyuk Malimiut's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. As for Gambell, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Koyuk Malimiut does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gambell will be playing at home against James C Isabell at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
